Undergraduate teaching

As a senior member of the department, I often hold lectures for undergraduates,nurses and midwives. I delivered my lecture entitled “Climacteric and afterwards” to final year medical students for many years.

I teach undergraduates regularly in my clinics (Gynaecology, colposcopy, menopause & TOP counselling) and operating lists. In addition to this, I also hold tutorials for them.

I was an examiner in the OSCE for the Obstetric and Gynaecology section of final MBBS at Imperial College at the Chelsea & Westminster campus. Since October 2008 I have been appointed as a Gynaecology Specialist solely to teach & train doctors & nurses for LARC procedures.

Training

Colposcopy training

As an accredited colposcopy trainer, I have trained nurse colposcopists and junior doctors. Family planning nurses and SpRs from both our own department and the GUM department regularly attend my colposcopy clinic for training purposes.

Family planning training

I am also a trainer in family planning and reproductive healthcare. I have trained numerous junior doctors to undertake family planning procedures, namely insertion of IUCD, and insertion and removal of Implanon occasionally. Very recently I have trained three Consultants for their competency in LARCS procedures.
